Unexpected journey to Antarctica

September 2023

Initially thought to be financially out of reach, the Almond family managed to secure last-minute berths to Antarctica on an old research vessel, previously used as a US spy ship. Braving the formidable Drake Passage, they encountered diverse wildlife and observed firsthand the raw beauty of one of the last wild frontiers and the potential impacts of climate disruption. This thrilling expedition transformed into a profound environmental learning experience, illustrating the value of persistence and opportunity.
